Testing your browser

Script Correct rendering Your computer
Devanagari  + ि = कि

Consult the table below to verify whether your computer can support Hindi. If your browser can display the Devanagari script, the text next to Your computer will look most similar to the image next to Correct rendering. If they do not look the same, compare your browser's text with the other images in the table to diagnose the problem.

Font installation instructions

Note: The following fonts only need to be installed if your computer has failed the above test.

Windows 2000 / XP

  1. Obtain Jaipur Unicode NFLC.ttf and download it to a temporary location on your harddrive.
  2. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel and open the Fonts folder.
  3. Drag and drop the file into the newly opened window
  4. Come to this page again and press "View Sample Text" to verify that text now appears in the new type-face.

Mac OS X

  1. Obtain Jaipur Unicode NFLC MAC.ttf and download it to a temporary location on your harddrive.
  2. Double click the file to open it in Font Book, then click "Install Font"

Please press the "View Sample Text" button to verify that Hindi is displaying correctly.
