Based on your learning needs, you can download software from this page that is required to use LangNet effectively.
Click on the links to download free applications and to check whether language support is enabled properly on your computer.
To view Learning Objects, download
Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher or
Netscape 6.2 or higher. Requirements vary depending on language (see language chart).
To listen to audio clips in LangNet Learning Objects you must have installed either Windows Media Player 6.4 or higher, or the RealOne Player 10.5 and browser plug-in. The QuickTime plug-in is also partially supported when neither the Windows Media Player nor Real Player plug-ins are available within your browser.
To view information on how to install or activate a font, click on a language.
Note the information in the "Browser/Platforms" column for specific language restrictions.
LangNet uses Arial Unicode MS as its default Unicode font for Latin-based languages. This font is installed
by default on most Windows computers. However, if you are seeing boxes or question marks instead of the correct letters in the sample texts below, or in the Learning Obejcts or Authoring Tool, please follow the instructions on how to install Arial Unicode MS on Microsoft's website.
PLEASE NOTE: Fonts for languages used in Assessment Objects only will not be listed here because they have no dependency on your computer platform or type of browser.
